We are a community of local surf instructors, who are looking forward to surf with you. Depending on your level, we will find the best waves and conditions for you.
We offer different types of surf lessons,that will improve your current skills depending on your level.
If you already know how to surf, we offer guiding to explore the beautiful waves of Kertasari and their surroundings.
Surf Instructors
Ardhy
Ardhy, born and raised in Kertasari, was one of the first surfers from the village. Together with 3 friends, he bought an old board from a local surfer from Scar Reef in 2007. By sharing this board, the 4 of them started practicing how to take waves.
Around 2014 Ardhy started working as a surf instructor in Kertasari and later on (2019) also in Kuta Lombok.
In 2023 he received the ISA certification for Surf Instructor Level 1 and Surf Rescue.
Thanks to his long experience, his English skills and open-hearted personality, Ardhy happily welcomes many surf guests by now and has recently been organizing the first local surf school and board rental in Kertasari.
Besides building up a future for his son and supporting the next generation of local surfers in here (Kertasari Boardriders), Ardhy‘s heart belongs to Kertasari’s stray animals, the preservation of the ocean as well as the idea to strengthen the local tourism community in Kertasari.
Diki
Diki, who was born in 2003 and grew up in Kertasari, is one of the locals you’re most likely going to meet in the water if you’re surfing in here.
Since he was a kid, he had a close relation to Ardhy, who has been teaching him how to surf and read waves.
By now Diki is surfing since seven years, knows all the spots in here, understands about guiding guests and has also been helping surf beginners many times.
Besides getting to know people from other countries and cultures, learning to speak English is one of the things Diki enjoys most about being a surf guide.
Ardi
Ardi is a passionated surfer from Kertasari, born in 1991, who has been riding waves since 2009.
He has completed the ISA Surf Instructor Level 1 and will receive the certification with the completion of the life guard training.
Throughout the last years Ardi gained a lot of experience as a surf guide in Lombok as well as in Kertasari.
He is speaking basic English and his open-hearted and cheerful personality makes it easy to communicate about waves and other things with him.
Surf Lesson
We offer two types of beginner courses, depending on your current level. Please look around and choose which level you are and which type of lessons you would like to book.
(Total Beginner)
Level 1
You’ve never surfed before or it’s been a long time ago and you want to refresh the basics.
- theoretical basics and safety
- practice at the beach:

- pushing you into your first green waves
Level 2
(Beginner)
You know how to do the take off and you are able to catch waves by your own.
- practice at the beach:
- short instruction
- practice in the water:
- teach how to paddle a wave
- supporting you to take a wave
- first instruction how to ride a wave
Level 3
(Intermediate)
You are able to surf by yourself and know how to move in the water. You want to improve your skills.

Guiding
We also offer surf guiding, which means you surf on your own, we keep an eye on you and show you where and when to surf. We’ll help you understand the waves of the current spot, but we won’t teach you how to surf and we won’t push you into the wave.
