Arifin was born in Kertasari. In the past, he worked as a construction worker in Malaysia for 27 years. He came back to Kertasari in 2010 and opened Café Titian a few years ago. In 2023 he built the first wooden house.
The accommodation and café are surrounded by mangrove forests. Arifin and friends planted the mangroves as part of a project coordinated by a Japanese organization to combat global warming.
The homestay is located right next to the natural mangrove forest and the boat harbor. The surf spots Kelly Point and Middle Left are only a few minutes walk away. The café next door is an ideal meeting place before or after surfing. In addition to a good portion of nasi goreng, mi goreng or an omelette, you can also get a cold beer here.
